Program
Western Lessons & Horsemanship
For Beginner to Intermediate Riders
About this program
This program is designed for riders who are new to Western riding or looking to build
confidence and skill at a steady, supportive pace. Lessons focus on developing a secure, balanced seat, clear communication, and a strong foundation in traditional Western horsemanship—both on the ground and in the saddle.
Riders learn safe handling, grooming, tacking, and riding techniques, emphasizing patience, trust, and partnership with the horse rather than force or performance.
Your Coach: Rae-Lyn Pighin
Rae-Lyn Pighin was practically born in the saddle and has spent her life immersed in horses. She continually learns and refines her skills, drawing guidance from her longtime mentor Bruce Christie in Cowley, Alberta, and expanding her experience through horsemanship, colt starting, cattle work, liberty, and other hands-on clinics.
Rae-Lyn is also a Certified Equine-Assisted Learning Coach, using the perspective of the horse to help riders grow in confidence, presence, and self-awareness. Her teaching approach is patient, grounded, and encouraging—perfect for beginner and intermediate riders who want to connect deeply with their horse while building real Western riding skills.
