Equine-Assisted Learning
Learning Through Connection
At Spur Valley Horses, we believe there is something honest and life-changing about working alongside a horse. Out here — where the air is fresh and the pace is steady — horses create space for people to slow down, reflect, and begin again.
Through Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL), we offer grounded, hands-on experiences that support emotional regulation, confidence building, accountability, and personal growth.
Horses respond to what is real — not what is masked — making them powerful partners in meaningful transformation.
Growth doesn’t happen through pressure here. It happens through connection.

Who We Serve
Individuals Seeking Real Change
We welcome youth and adults who are seeking meaningful change, renewed direction, and a grounded path forward. Equine-Assisted Learning at Spur Valley Horses may be well suited for individuals navigating:
Each experience is guided with care and adapted to the individual or group. No prior horse experience is required, and all activities take place on the ground.
Focus Area
Addiction Recovery
For individuals on the path of addiction recovery, horses offer something deeply powerful — presence without judgment. They respond to honesty, consistency, patience, and responsibility — the very same foundations that recovery is built upon.
Working alongside horses helps rebuild trust in oneself, strengthen emotional regulation, develop healthy boundaries, and rediscover a sense of purpose. The ranch environment naturally supports routine, accountability, and connection — all vital elements in long-term recovery.
Rae-Lyn’s passion for supporting individuals in recovery is not only professional — it is personal. She understands the courage it takes to rebuild, to choose differently, and to step forward into a new chapter.
That lived perspective brings empathy, steadiness, and genuine compassion into every session.
Autism & ADHD Support
Rae-Lyn has worked with many children over the years with Autism and ADHD and has witnessed meaningful growth through patient, structured, and relationship-based experiences.
With clear routines, steady guidance, and the regulating presence of horses, many children begin to build focus, independence, emotional awareness, and confidence in ways that feel empowering and achievable.
Horses communicate without words. Their intuitive, non-verbal feedback creates a calm, accepting environment where neurodivergent individuals can feel understood, capable, and at ease.
Through calm leadership, consistency, and honest reflection, the horse becomes a powerful partner in growth.
Our Approach
Grounded in Respect. Guided by the Horse.
Rooted in western values — respect, grit, responsibility, and heart — each session is guided by Rae-Lyn, a certified Equine-Assisted Learning coach trained through EAL Canada.
Clients are never rushed. Growth unfolds at each individual’s pace through partnership with the horse, in an environment built on safety, trust, and calm presence.
We view our clients as learners — discovering their own strength, awareness, and resilience through the perceptive eyes of a horse.
At Spur Valley Horses, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild, rediscover, and rise stronger.
Sometimes, the first step forward begins with the steady heartbeat of a horse.
